DR.RAJEEV RATHI

He is a senior interventional cardiologist and has vast experience in invasive cardiology. He has performed more than fifteen thousand cardiovascular interventions and is an expert at performing coronary interventions by trans-radial approach which is a more safe and patient friendly approach. He has been a pioneer in establishing the trans-radial route of coronary interventions in central India and at some of the major cardiac institutes of Delhi and NCR.

He has worked as a cardiologist in Railway Hospital, Perambur,Chennai and Escorts Heart Institute, New Delhi . He was instrumental in establishing the department of cardiology at Apollo Hospital, Bilaspur and Medical College, Raipur and has been awarded Honorary Professorship by Medical College, Raipur. He has been the one to start interventional cardiology in the state of Chhattisgarh and has the credit of performing the first coronary angioplasty in that state.

On academic front, he has seventeen publications in various national and international journals to his credit. He has presented intriguing and challenging cases in USA and Singapore. His case presentation was ranked one of the best at TCT Washington USA in 2008. He has also been involved in various research projects and clinical trials as a principle and co-investigator. He is a fellow of European Society of Cardiology and The Society of Cardiovascular angiography and Interventions USA.

Dr Rathi has started “Hriday Suraksha Abhiyan”, a novel and groundbreaking project in Central Coal Field Ltd., Ranchi that strives to provide immediate and best possible treatment to any and all victims of heart attacks at the well equipped secondary care hospitals of CCL. Through this project, Dr Rathi is pursuing his dream to make a difference where it matters.
